Walmart and Amazon.com are set to lock horns as the former is set to unveil its venture in the Prime offering, which is the most significant shopping option for many people globally. Walmart+ is set to bolster Walmart's grocery-delivery subscription service, which has been running since last year. Chief Customer Officer Janey Whiteside is to be at the helm of the development through to the introduction of the same to the market. 

A Walmart spokeswoman revealed that there were plans, yet she never disclosed any details. There are additional privileges set to be given to subscribers, inclusive of discounts on drugs and fuels. The membership program is proof that customers lost to Amazon.com seldom come back to Walmart. The idea is contrary to what founder Sam Walton believed in, as he championed for equity and equality for all customers. 

In the past, Walmart had tried to replicate Amazon's Prime, but the move was closed back in 2017 on the arrival of Marc Lore, who is in charge of Walmart’s U.S. e-commerce business. Walmart+ is far better than the previous move, and, is aimed at countering what Amazon’s Prime offers. Amazon allows privileges to subscribers, for instance, free shipping and video streaming. 

The Prime members spend more, and they are the reason Amazon blossoms in the sales, paying $119 annually, and even be competitive with physical retailers, in terms of pricing. Low-income earners have also been catered for as they are offered monthly subscriptions and delivering groceries just like Walmart. Walmart+ is headed by Whiteside, who has been actively involved at Walmart since arrival back in 2018. CEO Doug McMillon has tasked Whiteside with the task to ensure customers enjoy the same experience no matter how or where they shop. Walmart+ is set to use Walmart's grocery-delivery as a stepping stone towards achieving a competitive edge over Amazon. At Walmart, their services cost $98 per year or $12.95 per month with a 15-day free trial for new customers. Daily payment on deliveries is also
